Last Thursday, the New York Poetry Society came together with guests of Philippe Hoerle-Guggenheim and the artists represented in the gallery’s current mixed show to celebrate and explore where varying artistic forms meet. Some showed how they use words to express themselves through poetry while painter Franz Klainsek talked about his time without any words in Peru and how that inspired his style and technique. Franz also discussed how producing art has become his form of meditation, keeping him present and working to understand the world around him.
The evening opened with a performance by Sascha Nielsen on the tongue drum before DJ Kinner played world deep-house for the remainder of the event. Therefore, people of different walks of life came together to share perspectives and experience sound, visual and word art in one space.
The artworks of Jan Larsen, Stickymonger, Laura Kimpton, Massimo Agostinelli, Olga Tobreluts and Philip Tsiaras were also on display and will be shown in the gallery alongside Franz Klainsek’s over the next month.
